(VIDEO) – Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 review – what’s its true 0-60mph?

This all-electric behemoth is the new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53!

It’s AMG’s performance version of the regular EQS, rolling up with more power & performance than the standard edition, while still retaining the luxurious interior and ride comfort. The question is, can it justify the eye-watering £150,000 starting price?!

Well, let’s check out the stats. The regular AMG EQS comes equipped with the same 180kWh battery pack as you’ll find in the regular car, although this time it pumps out 658hp and 950Nm of torque! It can also hit 60mph in just 3.8 seconds.

However, you have the option to upgrade with the Dynamic Plus pack, which then increases output further to 761hp & 1,020Nm! It’s also dropped the 0-60mph time down to just 3.4 seconds. Not bad for a car that weighs just under 2.7 tonnes!

Naturally, the exterior has a few ‘AMG’ editions, from a boot lip spoiler round the back to the classic AMG slatted grille upfront. The interior has also been upgraded slightly, with AMG badging dotted throughout. Naturally though, just like in the regular car, it remains super luxurious and comfy.

So what do you think – is this EV really worth £150,000?! There’s only one way to find out… Stick with Mat for this all-new in-depth review!
